500 Affordable Units in 5 Years

Affordable Housing

WE ARE HALFWAY TO OUR GOAL OF 500 AFFORDABLE HOUSING UNITS IN FIVE YEARS! I will continue to be a liaison between social services agencies and residents.  We especially need another low-barrier shelter and day use center at a minimum, and that will be my top priority along with working to improve our COC..

  • I serve on the Escambia-Pensacola Affordable Housing Advisory Committee that recommends developer incentives to the city and county.
  • I support the Lotus Program to increase affordable rental housing.
  • I work with the 19 churches in JUSTPensacola to increase affordable rentals, possibly through a housing trust or land bank.
  • I support donating escheated county properties as a contractor incentive.
  • I voted to contribute $2 million to augment  first-time homeowners.

I will continue to serve on the Escambia County Affordable Housing Advisory Committee and work to strengthen the Continuum of Care to ensure funding is allocated towards our initiative of 500 affordable units in 5 years to end Homelessness Pensacola.
