The Ann Plan: PUBLIC SAFETY

FIRE & POLICE / BIKE LANES / ADA SIDEWALKS / STREET LIGHTING

Bike Pensacola Slow Ride with Ann Hill Pensacola City Council District 6

WALKABILITY / BIKEABILITY / BOATABILITY

During my first term, I worked to bring $21.3 million into District 6 for sidewalks, street lighting, bike lanes, pedestrian crosswalks and other traffic calming features, and serve on the Florida-Alabama Transportation Organization board. I took the Vision Zero pledge to eliminate traffic-related deaths and serious injuries and worked hard to promote street plans that slow traffic by narrowing vehicle lanes and adding bump-outs and tree canopies.

That feeling of safety is key to bringing crowds downtown, whether it’s for a baseball game, Broadway play, art exhibit or CivicCon discussion. I believe my past four years have made a real contribution to that progress. The three goals I work by are #walkability, #bikeability and #boatability.

I have used my discretionary funding to sponsor the bicycles distributed by OnBikes. I also helped promote Ciclovia and the Gonzalez Shareway bike programs. I plan to continue my support for these bike-riding promotions and hopefully make Gonzalez into a permanent safe option for bicyclists.

ENDING GUN VIOLENCE

I attended the roundtable to find community solutions for ending gun violence in our neighborhoods, and learned so much about what we can do at The City of Pensacola to bring educational opportunities and after school programs to our community centers, including STEM, sports activities, after school tutoring and early learning. You can listen to my interview about how I will support these efforts in District 6 on Andrew Mckay's Pensacola Morning News Radio 92.3 here: https://www.newsradio923.com/podcast/101922-ann-hill-city-council-candidate-for-district-6/?fbclid=IwAR2I7zR6VNNYOSV7uuFEDAz3NWkBdstSrQW_eeGu28tcAUoB2zpBL8PhGiE

The Ann Plan

“The Ann Plan,” prioritizes five facets of life that make D6 better for all of us: A Cleaner Environment, Bike/Pedestrian and Public Safety, Attainable Housing, Historic/Cultural Preservation, and Increasing Public Amenities. By focusing on the quality of life for our citizens first, businesses are naturally attracted to Pensacola, and we progress forward as a top destination for entrepreneurs and tourists.
